Setting a Filter to Trigger on Spot Comment

That is not possible unfortunately, due to the architecture of the HamAlert matching engine, which needs to use certain optimizations to be able to match hundreds of spots per second against ten thousands of triggers. Those optimizations preclude text/substring matching.

That said, HamAlert does pull some information from DX cluster spot comments, e.g. it tries to find IOTA/SOTA/POTA/WWFF references, and it also tries to guess the mode from comments (e.g. if there is “FT8” in the comment). This is different from (and more efficient than) a general user-driven substring or pattern matching.
