How to eliminate spots that are not real station activity spots, but rather, they are “test” spots, usually set to the lower band edge, such as, “14.000” or “28.000” or similar. Quite annoying, they are, to the thousands of HamAlert users following DX-Expeditions, etc. How best can they be eliminated? Perhaps a frequency “bypass” option to avoid alerts on certain frequencies? Thank you so very much.
Could you post a few examples (screenshots of the spot details in the HamAlert app would be best) of such spots please? Then I can think about the best possible solution.
Yes. I’d be happy to show screen shots examples, but unfortunately, the six spot examples that were sent for the 9T0MD DX’pedition were all deleted my myself on my phone HamAlert app, and so, those six deletions are apparently un-retrievable on the phone app. Those same spots did show up ((and still can be viewed)) on other DX spotting sites, such as the DXSummit.FI spotting site; they show up, almost always, as the very first spots for an expedition’s callsign, and are received before the expedition actually gets on the air, and at all hours of the day/night. Typically, these annoying spots all have frequencies at the lower band edges with frequencies ending with “.000” or “.00” such as: 14.000 28.000 0.0 1.800 and they at times contain the text word “TEST” or “SOON” or “At airport” or “Arrived” or “tomorrow” or such. The DXSummit.FI spot network has many examples, especially for the rare DXCC entity expeditions, all available for viewing there, since they keep all spots available for months.
