How do I set up an alert for possible propagation to a country or region?

Hi! How do I set up an alert for possible propagation to a country or region? How do I tell the app where I am such that it might be able to work out when the propagation might be open to a region or country? Thank you. David

Hey David,
HamAlert is to be considered as a tool to give you alerts on cluster or reverse beaconn spots, not a propagation forecast.
What you can do is, to configure a trigger, e.g. spotter from TG or North America and the DXCC you’re looking for. If you use FT8 or CW as mode, you should pretty soon get alerts, once the band is open.
To the best of my knowledge, the app is not aware of your location.

EDIT: Using a whole continent as “wanted”, may cause a lot of alerts for you.

Thank you for the reply. I will try that.

I use “spotter zone” as a condition, along with “spotter state”. I’m not familiar with TG9 enough to know if “spotter state” might work for you, but “spotter prefix” might be a possibility.

Thank you for taking the time to help me out!

I hope you get it solved.

I looked, and “spotter state” only covers the US and Canada, so that leaves us with “spotter prefix”. That might become rather large.
