Inactivity timeout on webpage

hello, can the inactivity timeout on the webpage be extended? I need to enable / disable triggers often during the day and I need to log in again most times due to inactivity timeout. Thanks & 73 Tony YO3IPR

Have a look here:

Thanks Manuel, it’s not visibly “logging out”, the page stays open in a tab (Firefox) but when I want to edit sometihng it needs me to log in again. I block 3rd party cookies by default and have strict security protocols in all of my browsers and machine wide. I tried turning off UBlockOrigin for https://hamalert.org/ but it didn’t show anything blocked on the site before so, as expected, this didn’t fix the issue. I dont have similar issues on other sites which retain their persistent log-ins in Firefox and I’m not willing to adjust security settings that may add privacy risks. I will check how it behaves in another browser but I need it to work in the same browser that my other ham radio sites use.

seem to have the same issue in Brave (chrome based). It doesn’t seem to be related to tracking or cookies (tried settiing an exception in Firefox but no change). I am not certain yet but I think it may only happen when the tab is not in focus when idle. It may be related to browser tabs sleeping to save memory, both Firefox and Chrome based browsers do this (supposedly only when Memory is low but in fact it happens at other times too, I have twice as much RAM as I need) so I have disabled this in Firefox to see what happens. UPDATE: This seemed not to make any difference either so no solution found so far.

FYI I dont have this issue with sites like LoTW or EQSL. I can log in to those once a day and even if I close the tab and go back to the site later they are still logged in (so long as the browser was not completely closed at some point). Also, many other sites like Clublog, Facebook, Youtube have very long lasting session cookies and I rarely need to log in on those sites even after PC restarts. All of this is with the same browser and PC of course.

Thanks for the tests. I did some searching on the server, and found a session timeout setting that has apparently been changed by one of the software updates in the recent past. I have changed it to 24 hours again – can you please check if the problem persists?

It seems to be working fine now, thank you for checking  If it reappears I will let you know. Thanks & 73 de Tony YO3IPR
