Morse Notifications

I’ve got my Android app set up to use Morse notifications, and I’ve got a couple of questions:

  1. Is there documentation on what you might hear? Most of what I hear seems self-explanatory (DX. RBN), but I’m sure I’ve heard a morse 44 notification, and I’m not sure what that indicates. Documentation on what morse notifications might be emitted would be nice.
  2. Morse speed. To my ear, it sounds like the morse is being sent at about 30wpm, which I can handle, but I’m sure there are some for whom that might be a bit fast. Yet so far I can’t find a setting for the morse code speed. Am I missing something?

The following morse notifications are available:

  • “IOTA”
  • “SOTA”
  • “44” (for WWFF/POTA spots)
  • “RBN” (for spots from RBN)
  • “DX” (for generic spots, i.e. no summit/island/park)

No – the speed is fixed, as it’s not possible to generate arbitrary speed (and content) morse as a push notification sound. I agree that the morse speed in the notification sounds is quite fast (faster than I could copy for more than a couple of characters), but as there are only 5 different possible sounds, it should be easy to get used to them.
