Trigger by suffix / wildcard option

Hello and thanks for HamAlert

Currently, there is a YOTA December going on, like every year. I would like to set up an alert for all YOTA stations. Most of them (not all) has xxxYOTA format, so I was wondering if there is an option to match the callsigns including/ending with “YOTA”. I guess not, as I was not able to find any similar option in the app, but asking just for the sake of confirmation

Allow wildcards in callsign triggers

Unfortunately wildcards don’t work well with the current architecture of the matching engine (which relies heavily on optimization wth hash tables, binary search etc.) to efficiently match the high number of spots against the high number of triggers. However, if the number of relevant callsigns is relatively small (say, < 1000), you can list them all in one trigger (Callsign condition => click the “List” button), and it won’t hurt the system performance any bit.
